DCI Launches Rebrand at Record-Breaking 60th Anniversary Annual Bankers Conference

HUTCHINSON, KAN., Oct. 3, 2023 – DCI (Data Center Inc.), the privately-owned developer of core processing, digital banking, and Fintech processing solutions, hosted over 450 attendees – including a record number of current and prospective clients – at DCI’s 60th Anniversary Bankers Conference, held in Overland Park, Kan., September 17-19.

The conference started on the greens of Drumm Farm Golf Club on Sunday morning, with clients, staff and exhibitors vying for top scores in the 19th annual AJ Krail golf tournament. Later in the day other attendees enjoyed the comedy “Always a Bridesmaid” and a tasty meal at the New Theatre & Restaurant. Attendees also competed at Game Show Battle Rooms and toured DCI’s state-of-the-art, underground data center in Lenexa.

The whole group rendezvoused for the opening reception in the exhibit hall Sunday evening, where everyone was treated to a 60s celebration, including beads and glasses, 60s music, and free t-shirts. Attendees played “Milestone Matchup” for a chance to win prizes, mingled with exhibitors, and networked with each other. The fun continued after the reception with a group of karaoke enthusiasts belting out 60s hits and other personal favorites.

Monday, the conference program officially started with an awe-inspiring keynote from James Lawrence, the Iron Cowboy. Lawrence shared his remarkable  journey of racing 50 Ironman races, in 50 consecutive days, through all 50 US states and the physical and logistical nightmare that it entailed.

Following the keynote, attendees joined sessions with subjects ranging from the latest DCI products and services, to industry insights from expert Siobhan O’Malley from the Federal Reserve, plus sponsor demonstrations from Mastercard, Glia, Deluxe, RESULTS Technology, Hawthorn River, TruStage, and BankiFi. Attendees also received hands-on training and instructor-led classes for iCore360, iCoreGO, and other DCI applications, taught by DCI education specialists.

At lunch, the group was entertained by Dan Meers, the KC Wolf mascot. Meers gave a humorous, but inspirational, message on leadership and life.

Attendees played “Diamond Double-Down” on Monday, for additional face-to-face time with the vendors and to earn more chances to win great giveaways. Prizes were awarded before the last session of the day.

The group then met for a cocktail/social hour, where more networking and socializing was enjoyed. The evening’s program included a memorable 60th Anniversary presentation by DCI president and CEO Sarah Fankhauser and Laura Meyer-Dick, daughter of Nation Meyer, DCI’s Founder.

Fankhauser revealed DCI’s new logo and rebranding elements and explained the rationale behind the rebranding. She emphasized that in over 60 years of business, DCI has never stood still. She added that DCI provides the best, most forward-facing solutions and services for our banks and continues to evolve as a brand. She emphasized that the new rebrand is a reflection of our commitment to our customers to continuously advance and improve, while staying true to who we are – an advocate and leader for community banks.

Meyer-Dick then spoke about her father’s vision for DCI and his unrelenting passion for the company he began 60 years ago. She also presented the 10th annual Nation Meyer Innovative Banker Award to this year’s honoree, David Chinnery, EVP, COO, and Vice Chairman of Bank of Prairie Village, Prairie Village, Kansas.

Following the program, the group all became master sleuths, as they attempted to solve the diamond heist mystery “Now you see it; now you don’t”, presented by The Murder Mystery Company. Table teams competed against each other to crack the carat caper.

The conference wrapped up on Tuesday with a morning of more training, expert sessions, and our annual GoBanking User Group meeting. Fankhauser spoke to the group at lunch, giving an overview of DCI’s plans for the future. Her address was followed by the final prize giveaway, including this year’s grand prize trip for two, worth $2,500.

Next year’s conference is scheduled Sept. 15-17, in Overland Park at the Sheraton/Overland Park Convention Center.
