HUTCHINSON, KAN., September 27, 2022 - Data Center Inc. (DCI), the privately-owned developer of digital banking and core processing solutions, hosted nearly 300 bank clients, in addition to prospects, guests, staff, and exhibitors at the DCI 2022 Annual Bankers Conference, held recently in Overland Park, Kan.
The conference officially started on the greens of Painted Hills Golf Course early Sunday morning, as golfing enthusiasts competed for top scores in the 18th annual AJ Krail golf tournament. Later in the day, a more theatrical group enjoyed the musical "Freaky Friday " and a tasty meal at the New Theatre Restaurant. Additionally, one busload toured DCI’s state-of-the-art, underground data center in Lenexa.
Sunday evening everyone met for the opening reception and exhibitor showcase, where attendees mingled, enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, networked, and played a word search for a chance to win terrific giveaways. Following the reception, high rollers headed to Ameristar Casino to cash in on the fun.
The conference program began Monday morning with keynote speaker Will Bowen. Bowen shared insights on complaining – what causes it, why we do it, and how to get ourselves and others to stop.
After the keynote, attendees headed to sessions with subjects ranging from the latest DCI products and services, to executive track topics from experts like Matthew Smith with IBAT, Robert Triano with Ciphertrace, and Tim Ohlde with Country Banker, to industry insights from expert Joni Hopkins from the Federal Reserve, plus sponsor demonstrations from Mastercard, The Clearing House, Visa, Glia, MOCA Financial, ISG Technology, RESULTS Technology, Compliance Systems and DataVisor. Other attendees went to the free hands-on training and instructor-led classes for iCore360, iCoreGO, and other DCI applications, taught by DCI education specialists.
Lunch on Monday featured a team building exercise led by Executive Board Certified Coach, Jared Hamilton, and dinner highlighted barbecue and beer from local Kansas City establishments. Live music was also provided to round out the evening’s entertainment. Bank presidents, CEOs and prospects had dinner with DCI board members and upper management, then joined the rest of the group for an after hours gathering.
The conference wrapped up Tuesday morning with additional education and expert sessions, plus the GoBanking User Group meeting. At lunch, DCI President and CEO, Sarah Fankhauser, presented the 9th Annual Nation Meyer Innovative Banker Award to Bryce Brewer, from Peoples Bank & Trust in McPherson, Kan., for his innovative thinking and tireless work to improve the world around him as a banker, DCI client, and community leader.
Fankhauser then gave a brief address on future plans for DCI. The lunch concluded with the popular final prize giveaways, including free DCI services, top-tier electronics, and the grand prize trip for two – worth $2,500.
