Production Control Technician

The Production Control Technician is responsible for verifying program and SQL promotion request are authorized and for promoting programs and SQL’s into production.  The Production Control Technician is additionally responsible for various critical file transmissions and receipts, maintaining on-call lists for the Operations Turnover, for creating and maintaining procedural documentation for all department tasks, and for communicating production program and procedure changes to the Operations Department.  

Responsibilities

  • Verifies program changes as authorized through the use of Netsuite and promotes programs, scripts and SQLS into production as required into the iCore system.
  • Sends and receives files using FTP or secured web sites.
  • Maintains high-level departmental procedural documentation in the form of flow charts and narratives.
  • Collaborates with Production Control Manager and Operations staff to ensure that program changes and procedure changes occur concurrently, without disruption to the system.
  • Coordinates scheduling of jobs required for conversions and de-conversions in cooperation with the Operational Support and Implementation staffs.
  • Provides controls to ensure ACH files received into Production Control on behalf of the bank customers are both authorized and processed timely.
  • Provide daily controls to ensure that Federal Reserve ACH files were sent and received accurately and timely.
  • Acts as a receptionist to for the Main Operations Building by greeting and signing-in building visitors, and routing them to the appropriate person.
  • Ensures that work area and front reception area of Main Operations Building are maintained in a neat and organized manner.

Education requirements

  • High School Diploma. Associates degree in Data Processing or Computer Science preferred.
  • One-year minimum work experience in data processing, computer operations, or production control.

Position requirements / skills

  • Understanding of basic data processing principles.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations.
  • Understanding of financial data processing principles and processes.
  • UNIX basic knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of FTP
  • PC proficiency.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in keyboarding.
  • Intermediate software/application usage proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal telephone communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal relating skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
