Part Time Operations Specialist-Lenexa

The Part Time Operations Specialist is responsible for performing any and all site operating job functions where necessary, which include, but may not be limited to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of Data Entry Clerks, Return Item Clerks, Balance Clerks, Printer Operators, and Operations Specialist. Full knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above listed positions at any given time is absolutely necessary. Provides exceptional customer service in ensuring that all DCI financial institutions and customers receive effective, complete, and satisfactory delivery and utilization of DCI’s processing services at the Lenexa Center. This individual must also be flexible to work varying schedules as requested to meet site processing and operations requirements during staffing shortages, vacations, sick days lunch periods, breaks, etc.

Operations Specialist

  • Assists with balancing individual bank customer transaction items generated from image capture in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and transmits the outgoing cash letter files.
  • Sends large dollar notifications to the Federal Reserve
  • Prepares all nightly production and balancing reports for individual banks' image production volumes.
  • Assists with inputting Icore Billing.
  • Assists in preparation of outgoing mail.
  • Responds promptly to questions/concerns of bank customer contacts and ensures the timely resolution of all problems concerning any problems that arise with site processing.
  • Maintains standards and schedules established by DCI’s Lenexa processing center.
  • Informs supervisor of problems and assists in resolution.
  • Assists in maintaining continuous quality control.
  • Performs daily machine maintenance and clean-up at end of shift.
  • Assists in evaluating current procedures and schedules, as requested, and suggests ideas to more efficiently expedite item processing.
  • Check for incoming print files.
  • Creates print files and check for bad images.
  • Prints statement files to the primary statement printer.
  • Renders and/or packages statements for shipping to bank.
  • Provides back up to all Lenexa Processing Center duties and functions performed by other employees.
  • Ensures that all site processing areas, as well as personal work area, and other shared departmental work areas maintained in a neat and organized manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two to three years’ work experience in general bank operations, plus two years additional bank proofing experience preferred.

Position requirements / skills

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of individual bank item transaction processing in an image and traditional bank processing environment.
  • Introductory knowledge of financial data processing, balancing, and bank bookkeeping preferred.
  • General knowledge of computer use and operation.
  • 10-key by touch at a rate of 10,000 - 12,000 keystrokes per hour.
  • Intermediate data-entry proficiency.
  • Strong visual error detection skills.
  • Intermediate skills in operating a computer and utilizing bank processing applications.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
