Part Time Card Services Representative I

The Part Time Card Services Representative I is responsible for dispute resolution; daily entering and settling of VISA and MC chargebacks and other pin-based transactions in the respective networks.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Review dispute documentation received from banks for accuracy.
  • Code the dispute for the proper chargeback reason. 
  • Enter dispute either in the FIS portal or the appropriate network for pinned transactions.
  • Settle dispute with either funds are passed or denied
  • Updates the Chargeback Ledger
  • Provide second level support for dispute questions.
  • Open support tickets with vendors and participates in vendor calls.
  • Responds to client financial institution questions/concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that personal work area and other shared Card Services departmental work areas maintained in a neat and organized manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including any special projects

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Associates degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years work experience in an office environment in an accounting clerk capacity, or completion of post-secondary business/accounting courses.
  • Banking experience preferred.

Position Requirements & Skills:

  • Intermediate working of computer operation and software use including Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in composing business letters, mailings, creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Basic understanding of financial data processing principles and processes.      Effective and pleasant verbal communication style and skill.
  • Effective typing/data-entry skills at a minimum of 30 wpm.
  • Highly accurate and efficient 10-key skills.
  • Intermediate PC operation and word-processing and spreadsheet software/application utilization proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office applications and Windows.
  • Strong documentation and written communication skills.
  • Effective and appropriate verbal, face-to-face and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, coordination, time management, and organization skills.
