Director of Customer Relationships

The Director of Customer Relationships is responsible for maintaining close liaison with customers to assist them in obtaining full and satisfactory utilization of services; schedules personal visits to customers and acts in a consulting manner to improve and/or maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.  Also responsible for overseeing the staff of Customer Relationship Managers.

Responsibilities

Vice-President, Customer Relations

  • Attends weekly management meetings.
  • Supervises Customer Relationship Managers. 
  • Visits Customer Relationship Managers’ assigned banks when necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews for Customer Relationship Managers annually. 
  • Ensures that Customer Relationship staff follows all policies and procedures.
  • Creates new policies and procedures for staff.
  • Keeps the Critical Care list.
  • Reports on the Customer Relationship staff sales pipeline monthly to management.

Account Servicing/Client Relations

  • Conducts personal visits, telephone calls, and sends written correspondence to customers.
  • Promotes customer attendance at DCI conferences.
  • Acts as host/ambassador to customers in attendance at the annual DCI Users Conference.
  • Assists Customer Relationship Managers with the following as escalated:
  • Consults with customers to solve problems, meet customer needs, and improve and increase the level of customer value and overall satisfaction.
  • Builds and maintain files on all customer accounts, including records of all products used and any other relevant information.
  • Promotes new and existing DCI products to customers, where appropriate (soft selling).

Other

  • Attends internal and external continuing education classes to keep abreast of enhancements to financial services products and industry changes/trends.
  • Ensures that personal work area and other shared departmental work areas maintained in a neat and organized manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Four years’ work experience in a financial organization, preferably in a customer service or account management role.
  • Ten years’ experience in financial data processing.

POSITION REQUIREMENT KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Understanding of marketing and product promotion.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of all areas of the banking industry and related financial data processing.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial institution processes and products.
  • Thorough understanding of DCI and client banks' operations.
  • Knowledge of bank compliance regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial computing applications and general PC operations.
  • Must keep up with new banking and data processing technology. 
  • Excellent leadership skills and conduct of interpersonal relations.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, in person and through use of telephone.
  • Advanced PC operation and testing skills, word-processing, and spreadsheet software proficiency, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office, and Windows applications required.
  • Possesses sound analytical problem determination and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective planning, coordination, time management, and organization skills.
  • Effective and appropriate face-to-face and verbal communication skills, as well as appropriate conduct of interpersonal relations.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and speaking clearly and concisely.
  • Strong documentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong management skills.
  • At least five years’ experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
