Compliance Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Specialist leads the design, implementation and support of industry and regulatory related compliance and privacy controls and processes at DCI, as well as validating future related processes. This includes the tracking and interpretation of laws, industry requirements and/or regulations impacting DCI and DCI’s customers. The Compliance Specialist will assist other departments with compliance/privacy questions and concerns and conduct reviews of alleged compliance/privacy violations including escalation as needed. In addition, the Compliance Specialist will assist in reviewing policies and procedures for appropriate compliance/privacy controls. The Compliance Specialist will also assist with select Security related processes to support necessary departmental resources along with separation of duties within the department.

This position may require travel to various DCI facilities and possibly select vendor locations.

In addition to travel, this position is on call for major problems 24x7. Interruptions after normal hours are usually minimal but can obviously vary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of compliance/privacy processes.
  • Analyze risk of existing and proposed compliance/privacy policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring of compliance/privacy controls and processes.
  • Document activities or processes that are meant to track or ensure compliance of organizational processes or functions.
  • Identify gaps in documentation, or potential areas of non-compliance, and suggest resolutions.
  • Respond to standard requests for documentation or records based on established guidelines.
  • Maintain a repository of documents that are needed to comply with applicable regulations or standards.
  • Participate in processes to ensure compliance with GLBA, PCI-DSS, privacy regulations and acts, etc.
  • Research and react to compliance/privacy bulletins and alerts.

Problem Solving & Needs Analysis

  • Promptly responds to compliance/privacy questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Investigates all compliance/privacy issues reported or detected in a timely manner.
  • Provides input to other DCI staff regarding compliance/privacy practices and processes.
  • Recognizes potential compliance issues and recommends improvements to configurations, standards and/or procedures.
  • Completes training as required to strengthen communication and organizational knowledge and skills.
  • Ensures that personal work area and other shared departmental work areas are maintained in a neat and organized manner.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or
  • 4 or more years of compliance/privacy related experience.
  • Maintains compliance/privacy related certification(s) and/or other appropriate industry certification(s).
  • Work experience with banking industry compliance/privacy processes and procedures.
